Marco Mancini was born in Northampton, England, in 1977.
He lives in Prato, Italy, since 2004.
He studied languages and German and Japanese literature at the University of Florence and the University of Bonn (Germany).
He started to approach the history of photography and his personal photographic research in 2005, after that he attended several other workshops and courses during which he had the opportunity to meet and study the works of several contemporary artists.
In the first years of his research his focus was set mainly on the Italian landscape photography, after that he passed on to study the inner processes of the medium, of the photographic language, of the reproducibility and use of the images in the present-day society.
Among the influences of his artistic research of the recent years we can mention Luigi Ghirri, Franco Vaccari, Paul Graham, Martin Parr, Thomas Ruff, Ed van der Elsken.

Marco Mancini è nato a Northampton, UK, nel 1977.
Ha studiato lingue e letteratura tedesca e giapponese presso l’Università di Firenze e l’Università di Bonn (Germania).
Vive a Prato dal 2004.
Da sempre interessato alle arti visive, comincia ad approfondire lo studio della storia della fotografia ed avvia la sua personale ricerca fotografica nel 2005.
In seguito frequenta numerosi workshop e laboratori fotografici in cui ha l'occasione di conoscere alcuni importanti artisti contemporanei.
Nei primi anni la sua ricerca prende avvio dall’investigazione della fotografia di paesaggio italiana per poi spostarsi a temi più legati al medium, al linguaggio, alla riproducibilità e all’uso delle immagini nella società contemporanea.
Tra gli influssi della sua ricerca artistica si possono citare Luigi Ghirri, Franco Vaccari, Paul Graham, Martin Parr, Thomas Ruff, Ed van der Elsken.
